The Art of Dying Well – Planning Ahead with Angela Mennitto
November 4 at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST
Angela Mennitto is a death midwife who works to organize community education events to promote death literacy—the practical know-how needed to plan well for the end of life—and to help normalize conversations about death and dying. She is passionate about any activity that helps normalize conversations about death and dying in our culture, anything that helps us “bring death out of silence.”
Angela will talk about advance directives in the medical realm—health care proxy and living will—as well as medical orders such as a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate Order) or MOLST (Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) form. She will also touch on a bit of legal planning beyond basic estate planning to include recording digital details, planning for pets, and accommodating creative work. Finally, she will also talk about how planning funeral arrangements can save money, ensure you have what you want, save your family from stressful decisions at a difficult time.
