Longview Privacy Policy
Normal website usage:
Longview has a firm commitment to internet privacy. You can visit most portions of www.longviewithaca.org without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a normal website visit is the pages you request and the date and time you request them. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the site to our visitors.
Collection of personally identifiable information:
Longview may collect e‐mail addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors when such data is voluntarily submitted to www.longviewithaca.org. For example, our site uses online forms for visitors to request information, sign‐up for e‐ mail updates, register for special events, or make a donation. Contact information from the online form is used solely to provide information to the requester, or process and acknowledge donations or event registrations. Financial and credit card information is used solely to bill donors in connection with these transactions.
Longview makes every effort to ensure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive credit card information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies. However, other e‐mail that you may send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as Social Security or account numbers to us through an unsecured e‐mail.
Longview does not sell or otherwise disclose such user information outside the organization. We never sell, rent, exchange or otherwise disclose e‐mail addresses or phone numbers. However, names and postal addresses of some donors may be exchanged with other organizations whose missions are compatible with Longview, and for strictly limited use. Donors may opt out of such donor list exchanges.
